New York City-based alto saxophonist and composer Jonas Ganzemuller, born in Germany, studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam while playing with Guillermo Celano, the New Generation Big Band, the “BuJazzO” (Peter Herbolzheimer), and Nils Weinhold (performances at major jazz festivals such as the “North Sea Jazz Festival“ and “The Hague Jazz“). With his own group and as a co-leader of the quartet “Endangered Species“ he has been performing frequently at jazz festivals and clubs around Europe. Jonas is currently a graduate student at the Manhattan School of Music in New York where he has been learning from Dave Liebman, Steve Wilson, and Phil Markowitz.
