This week the Motorschiff Stubnitz opens its doors for another night of diverse culture. Featuring within the dark underbelly of the schiff ONO RYOKO, RUINS and UZ JSME DOMA are preparing to bring interesting sounds and textures to entertain and enthral.
21:00
To begin the night we have a series of short films that will open the atmosphere for the incoming musical onslaught.
21:30
ONO RYOKO
Ono Ryoko will deliver her profoundly interesting show. She plays improvised jazz, rock, funk, rhythm & blues and hip hop, as well as working as a studio musician. Ono has created her own musical language, “Language R,” to compose and write lyrics. Some tracks have dramatic movements like progressive rock, and some have clear classical influences. Constantly avoiding classification Ryoko will be playing Alto Sax and hopefully collaborating with RUINS to produce SAX RUINS.
“Formed by Tatsuya Yoshida (drums) and Ono Ryoko (alto Sax) to perform Ruins’s songs in 2006, as Sax Ruins, they have restructured the orchestration of Ruins with the involvement of the saxophone & flute with the result sounding like a big band playing progressive Jazz Core.”

R U I N S a l o n e
Ruins alone is an experimental rock project, originally comprising two people the creator Yoshida has traded his partner for electrical machines which was the next logical step and compliments his new, complex and concentrated style which incorporates the expressiveness of prog rock, the freedom of jazz and the energy of punk with Sax Ruins.Described as;
“Like syrup or strong alcohol, Ruins make music that makes you grimace. Ruins is a direct interface between Yoshida’s brain and his drumsticks.”
Yoshida has been described as one of the most innovative drummer/composer/improviser in the Japanese avant-garde music scene. This will be a performance that will assault and feed the beast within.

UZ JSME DOMA
Uz Jsme Doma, (pronounced oosh-smeh-dough-ma), is a progressive rock band originally from Teplice, Czech Republic.
The band’s approach to arrangements and style is unique in the world of rock. They bring the instruments and vocals in different directions within the same scales and keys to create a dense melodic atmosphere. The music seems to be an exhausting juxtaposition between beauty and ugliness, as songs will frequently shift between modes to create tumultuous, powerful hooks.
their last line-up was :::Miroslav Wanek = Guitar, Piano, Voice.Adam Tomasek = Trumpet, Voice.Pepa Cervinka = Bass, Voice.Jaroslav Noga = Drums, Energy.
